FINANCIALLY SPEAKING....

  • The 2006-2007 fiscal year was a great success.  We were able to keep expenses down and revenue up, which helped us come out in the black!!  Our anticipated net income for 2006-2007 is $4,471.82, with cash and assets at $247,305.32.

  • I would like to thank the Board of Directors, Finance Committee and staff for helping to make "cents" of 2006-2007.  Hopefully 2007-2008 will be as good, if not better, to the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing.

Net Income: $4,471.82

Cash and Assets: $247,3055.32

Finance Committee: Kurt Hanus, Chair; Glenn Ross; Mary McCune; Karol Kvorka

If you would like to be part of the Finance Committee or would like more information on March's Finances, please contact Joseph.

A NOTE FROM DEVELOPMENT....

  • Golf Outing Update: Dr. Sauchak, co-chair of the golf committee would like to thank the following Board Members for registering for the “Scramble for Youth” Golf Outing that will be held on Wednesday, June 6th at Hawk Hollow:  Karen Beekman, Edward Forrest, Philip Hamilton, Kurt Hanus, Paul Jaques, and Richard Kerbawy!  Currently we have 96 golfers registered – halfway to our goal of 180 golfers!  It is not too late to register as a sponsor, to include a foursome, or purchase a tee sign!

  • Stewardship: Are there people you are trying to encourage to donate to the Boys & Girls Club but they just haven’t been responsive? Think about inviting them to lunch and follow lunch up with a tour of the Club! Another idea may be to secure a foursome for the golf outing and invite them to golf with you! Now is a great time to engage donors / prospective donors about the Boys & Girls Club!

The Resource Development committee currently meets on the third Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Club. If you are interested in serving on the RD Committee please contact Sandra.

PROGRAMMING AT A GLANCE....

  • Youth Awards Night will be held on Friday, May 4th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Club's gymnasium.  Club members are awarded with a night of praise and recognition for their outstanding accomplishments at the Club throughout the school year.
  • The MSU Youth Football Clinic was a great time for our club members who attended.  In the clinic, youth were introduced to the fundamentals of the sport and were able to receive an autograph from new head coach Dantonio and his players.
  • Sutton Garden Project commenced on April 21st.  When you get an opportunity, swing by the Club to see the new garden fence.  A special thank you to Jill Kacel (Sutton Advisors) and Jordan Sutton for getting the fence!

If there are any Board Members interested in joining the Program Committee, please contact Laurie Schwartz.
