It all started when Paul Bajorek, the President of Lorann Oils, attended last year's "A Night to Remember" fall fundraiser and decided that he wanted to get his company involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lansing.
Lorann Oils is a Lansing-based, family-owned business that produces and distributes flavorings for baking and candy-making. After we heard from Paul, we immediately knew the Lorann Oils team would be perfect to lead a culinary STEM workshop. What better way to get Club members excited about science in the kitchen than by teaching them how to make gummy candy?!
Lorann Oils provided the aprons and all the candy-making supplies we could possibly need including the molds and the flavorings (of course). Then, Paul and Shannon came to teach Keystone Club, our leadership program for teens, how to make gummy worms in our commercial kitchen. They had so much fun making them but even more fun eating them!

Inspired by what they learned from the Lorann Oils team, Keystone Club later visited K's Precious Care Learning Center where they taught the younger children how to bake while proudly donning their new "Bake the World a Better Place" aprons from Lorann Oils.

In Keystone Club, teens are encouraged to lead by example and give back to the community. Thanks to the generosity and expertise of the Lorann Oils team, Keystone Club learned a new skill and saw an opportunity to serve others. We are so proud of Keystone Club and so incredibly grateful to Lorann Oils for providing this amazing opportunity! It's because of businesses like yours that the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lansing are able to cultivate unique experiences and foster growth and learning, all while having loads of fun.
