The week leading up to Valentine's Day was very exciting here at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lansing!

Northside Extension

Staff pulled out all the stops for Northside's first Valentine's Day party! The Games Room was transformed for the party with red and pink covering every available surface. Club members contributed to the decor by making paper hearts with words of affirmation on them. With messages like "You are Marvelous" and "I Believe in You" posted all over the walls, it was impossible not to feel the love in the room.

There was face painting, musical chairs, a "Find Someone Who" activity, and of course plenty of sweet treats for everyone to enjoy!

Mooney Center

Torch Club, our leadership program for Club members ages 11-13, hosted a Valentine's Day Dance for Club members ages 7-12. Along with enjoying cookies and juice and dancing the evening away, attendees also voted for the king and queen of their age group.

Teens

In anticipation of this sweet holiday, Keystone Club, our teen leadership program, organized a Valentine's Day Treat Sale to raise funds for a field trip to Michigan's Adventure this summer.

They raised over $200 selling cookies, cake pops, and candy grams to their fellow Club members and fulfilling orders for community partners.

Not only was the bake sale a hit with customers, Keystone Club thoroughly enjoyed planning and running the sale and are already working on plans for the next one!

Got any ideas for what Keystone Club should bake next? New ideas for a fundraiser? Spread the love and share it in the comments!
