Meet the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lansing's Youth of the Year: Perion

Before you press play, meet Perion—our 2026 Youth of the Year. Youth of the Year is the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier leadership and recognition program, honoring teens who demonstrate academic success, strong character, and a commitment to service. Perion earned this distinction after competing in our Club’s internal Youth of the Year competition in February, and since then, she has been hard at work preparing for the statewide competition taking place April 14–15.

As part of this experience, Perion will not only represent Boys & Girls Clubs of Lansing on a larger stage, but will also have the opportunity to meet with lawmakers and advocate for the issues she’s most passionate about—using her voice to make a difference for youth across our community and beyond.
