LANSING, MI — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lansing is proud to announce that President & CEO Joseph Yang has been named CEO of the Year by the Michigan Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs. The award was presented at the Michigan Alliance Meeting in April, recognizing Yang's outstanding contributions to the Boys & Girls Clubs Movement across the state.

In just two years as President & CEO, Yang has led a period of remarkable growth and impact for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lansing. Most notably, in 2026 he stepped in as Interim CEO for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Flint while continuing to lead his home organization, providing stability and operational continuity for youth in both communities during a critical period.

Under Yang's leadership, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lansing expanded its footprint by opening a new extension site on Lansing's Northside, an area identified as having high need for youth services. He also spearheaded the development of a Club located directly within a public housing complex, a transformative initiative designed to eliminate transportation and access barriers for families. The project holds deep personal significance for Yang, who grew up in public housing and is himself a former Club member.

"This award belongs to our entire team and the communities we serve," said Yang. "Everything we do comes back to making sure young people have a safe place to go, caring adults to guide them, and real opportunities to build a future. I grew up in a Club. I know firsthand what that means. It's the privilege of my career to help make that possible for more kids across Michigan."
