Summer Fun at the Clubs!

Whooooooo-eeeee it's a hot one out there! Fortunately, our Club members and staff are absolute pros at finding ways to beat the heat and still have loads of fun!
At the Southside, staff broke out the inflatable water slide/obstacle course and the slip 'n slide. For anyone who didn't want to get wet but still play outside, Ms. Rebeccah, the Art Room Supervisor, prepared some chalk paint for kids to create their own sidewalk masterpieces. Ms. Rebeccah has also been teaching the kids how to press flowers and one Club member got to model her new flower earrings!
Staff set up the inflatable slip 'n slide at the Northside too and Club members had a blast spraying their friends with the hose and racing each other down the slide!
Our brand new Westside site hosted a barbecue for kids and their families to come check out the new addition to the Waverly Place community. Word spread fast that our staff were handing out free hotdogs and kids ran off to get their friends and neighbors to join in on the fun!
It's hard to believe that we are already over halfway through the summer, but there is still plenty of fun left to be had! Our staff have been at hard at work coming up with new and creative ways to engage our kids while spreading the word to the communities we serve about how we are here to support families after school and during the summer. So, Mr. Sun, go ahead and keep on shining! You can't keep the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lansing down!
