The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lansing is proud to announce Lauryn as our February Youth of the Month!
Lauryn, age 11, used to struggle with trying new things and making friends at school until she started coming to the Club almost three years ago. Now, she credits the Club with giving her a safe space to be herself with supportive staff and peers who have helped her build confidence and encouraged her to expand her horizons.
Lauryn is well known for her gregarious personality, high energy, and desire to make sure everyone feels included. This past fall, she was the natural choice for the role of Club Reporter at "A Night to Remember: The Great Club Quest" and interviewed donors, staff, and Club members about what the Club means to them. Ms. V, Cadet Room Supervisor and one of Lauryn's favorite staff members, had this to say about the Youth of the Month:
"Hugs are for everyone, all day long -- that's Miss Lauryn in a nutshell!"
